Nature has a lot of the answers that we’re not looking to. Nature shows us the seasons and we should be rotating our foods. Nature is teaching us all these lessons that we’re not paying attention to. Keeping the body guessing is healthier for the body than eating the same things all the time. By eating the same things all the time, the body becomes sensitive to them. He then talked about the acyra machine. It gives bio feedback as to how these foods affect the body and if it’s an item that you should or shouldn’t be eating. This diet is not going to be easy for her. We’re creatures of habit, and we’re set in our ways, and eating the same things all the time. We need to go back to a category of foods that don’t exist. He calls it “the green leafy vegetable category.” This is b/c vegetables have a broad range, and you want to stay away from the starchy vegetables. You can make salads, w/ lemon juice salad dressing. We can make vegetable soups and puree them, so they don’t see what’s in them.
I expressed my concern about how to get her to detox when she doesn’t eat anything that is on the Candida diet list. He suggested that I could do it gradually. The problem is is that if it’s not done right, we could be perpetuating the Candida. Eliminating the source is the number one thing you have to do to eliminate the problem. You don’t want to do it part way and then have to keep going through this over and over again. You might as well do it right the first time. If you try to rebalance the body w/o eliminating the source, it’s not really going to go away. There are products out there that will help in the transition. “Mary gone crackers” is a great product b/c it has that crunchy stimulation. He mentioned an avocado pudding that is delicious. There are ways of substituting and putting good ingredients in things to make them taste good. He said to stay away from regular commercial milks and grains. They are so over-processed and they’re so unhealthy for us. Just stick to a diet w/ protein, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and berries. Berries have fitonutrients in them that helps to fight the aging process and to detoxify and have high antioxidants. Kiwi is another good fruit. It has protein and loads of vitamin C. The green apples would come first b/c they are the lowest in sugar.
He recommends that for breakfast she could have a protein shake. Stay away from the ones w/ sweeteners. It would be 10x’s better than cereal. Protein will satiate her. He then suggested that she could have poached salmon. He said to be careful w/ eggs. Make sure we rotate them and that she eats them every 3-4 days. He also recommended MCT oils. They are good b/c they are anti fungal. Coconut oil would be the best choice. At least I got that right. He said that chicken breast is a good option. He got off tangent about breakfast. I said to him that breakfast isn’t the only challenge, it’s every meal. It’s the entire day. He suggested celery with roasted garlic. Yeah! right! Has he forgotten that I have a 7 year old? He mentioned that hummus was okay, but we’d have to make it ourselves. Another food was raw almond butter. When you roast nuts, you oxidize the oils. Raw honey is a good choice and better for sugar. It could be introduced after we go through the stages.
He asked about her digestion. I explained that she is extremely constipated and that she takes miralax every other day. He said that chlorella. It’s a single cell organism full of chlorafil and it helps to move the bowls. When looking at constipation you have to look at three things: hydration, fiber and exercise. You want her to get her system running on it’s own. She’s got to hydrate and eat foods rich in fiber. I explained to her that those were going to be predominately green foods and she says back to me, “gross!”
He asked about the probiotic and recommended that she has it two times a day while she’s on the diflucan. While on the diflucan, you want to reinoculate the gut. As you’re getting rid of the bad guys, you want to replace them. We then talked about how the literature I’ve read says that you can get rid of Candida and then others say you can’t. Michael said that Candida is naturally occurring in all of us. We are organic beings. But when you have a state of acidity in the diet, you lower the voltage and you trigger these bacteria to wake up and become active and multiply. They need to eat b/c they want to reproduce. What initially caused the diet could have been an acidic diet. I explained to him that I knew why this happened and it was b/c of the amount of medication that she’s been on for the past 3 years. The antibiotics wiped out the good and the bad bacteria. We normally have 80% good and 20% bad bacteria. That’s the norm for a healthy person. I explained to him that she has no good bacteria left.
I expressed my concern as to how I’m supposed to get the supplements into her system throughout the course of the day when she’s so limited on what she can eat. He suggested to put all the supplements into her protein shake in the morning and that will cover her for the day. He also suggested to put in cacoa or carob powder to help w/ the taste. I then asked about the different “sugar free” items and if she can even have those (aspartame, etc). He said no, b/c they are neurotoxic.
How am I supposed to figure out from her if she’s really feeling better? She’s always a happy go lucky kid and rarely complains. Michael said that she’s not really going to be able to express that. He said to monitor her stools. If they are light colored, then the bile from her gall bladder isn’t dropping. She can eat beet tops in a salad or dandelion which is bitter that helps w/ digestion. With her it could be that she has some yeast in her stomach. It can grow up into the stomach and that can affect digestion. It effects the output of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. There are 5 things that you need to make hydrochloric acid: 1. hydro - from water 2. chloride - from salt and lemon 3. Vitamin B 1 4. Zinc 5. Iodine - it’s used by all the systems and organs in the body. It’s concentrated in the skin, it’s so important. He also explained the Thyroid and how the thyroid makes T4 which converts to T3 then goes into the cell. I told him that some of the tests came back w/ a high thyroid. Michael then pulled out a chart that brought back horrible memories of high school. It’s a chart. It’s called the halogen sisters: Floride, chloride, bromide, and iodine. Iodine is at the bottom. It’s a lot less reactive, b/c it’s a heavier element. Floride is a bully. It will push the iodine off the tyroamino acid (T4). For example, you’ll have 4 florides attached to a tyrozine. So if you test for T4 in the blood , it will comes up normal. They call that false T4 b/c it should be a tyrozine w/ 4 iodines. So if it’s a tyrozine w/ 4 florides the body can’t work. So you want to get these out of the diet. First, get rid of the floride toothpaste. Chlorine - get a shower filter so you’re not breathing it and thus getting into your body. Bromine - is in baked goods and it’s in commercial pasta, so she’s getting too much of that. So the Bromine is so close to iodine and the body has difficulty working. This is important b/c that predominately effects the thyroid.
